In this section of the Building a Business Calendar for a Clinic scenario, you will use the Define Business Hours screen to define business hours for a clinic. The Define Business Hours screen allows business hours to be defined for a business day.

Complete the following steps to perform this scenario:

To begin this scenario: The Build Clinic Calendar screen should be displayed and business days should be defined for the clinic for which you will be defining business hours. For more information see the Display the Build Clinic Calendar Screen and Defining Business Days scenarios. |
1. Select a Clinic for which to define business hours.
2. Click the Define Business Hours toolbar button (pictured below). The Define Business Hours screen displays.
3. Enter or select both the Apply from and To dates to specify the date range for which to define business hours.

NOTE: The To date defaults to the date entered in Apply from. |
4. Under Clinic Hours, enter the time the clinic opens in from.

NOTE: When entering a time, press the A key to specify AM or the P key to specify PM. |
5. Under Clinic Hours enter the time the clinic closes in to.
6. Under Clinic is Open, select the check boxes, as necessary, to specify the weeks of the month to define business hours.

NOTE: Click the Mark All button to check all the check boxes in the Clinic is Open group box. Or, click the Clear All button to uncheck all the check boxes in the Clinic is Open group box. |
7. Under On Days, check the check boxes, as necessary, to specify the days of the week to defines business hours.

NOTE: Click the Overwrite Existing Business Hours check box to overwrite any existing business hours with the business hours specified when the screen is processed. If the Overwrite Existing Business Hours check box is left unchecked, the specified business hours will not be defined for days that had already had business hours defined. |
8. Click Apply. The Event Log screen displays.
9. Click Close.
Repeat the process, as necessary, until all applicable days have had business hours defined. When defining the last group of business hours, click OK instead of Apply to process the screen.
Congratulations! You've defined business hours for a clinic.
