Defining Business Days

In this section of the Building a Business Calendar for a Clinic scenario, you will use the Define Business Days screen to define business days for a clinic. The Define Business Days screen allows an undefined calendar day to be defined as a business day.

Complete the following steps to perform this scenario:

To begin this scenario: The Build Clinic Calendar screen should be displayed and holidays should be defined for the clinic for which you will be adding business days. For more information see the Display the Build Clinic Calendar Screen and Defining Holidays scenarios.

1.        Select a Clinic for which to define business days.

2.        Click the Define Business Days toolbar button (pictured below). The Define Business Days screen displays.

Note

NOTE: A day in the past cannot be defined as a business day. Only the current day or a future day can.

3.        Enter or select both the Apply from and To dates to specify the date range for which to define business days.

NOTE: The To date defaults to the date entered in Apply from.

4.        Under Clinic is Open, select the check boxes, as necessary, to specify the weeks of the month to define business days.

NOTE: Click the Mark All button to check all the check boxes in the Clinic is Open group box. Or, click the Clear All button to uncheck all the check boxes in the Clinic is Open group box.

5.        Under On Days, check the check boxes, as necessary, to specify the days of the week to define as business days.

6.        Click Apply. The Event Log screen displays.

7.        Click Close.

Repeat the process, as necessary, until all applicable days have been defined as business days. When defining the last group of business days, click OK instead of Apply to process the screen.
