The Nutrition Assessment screen is used to view or manage a client's nutrition assessment.
When this screen initially displays in the Participant Folder, the system verifies if a certification attempt is currently in progress. If at least one certification is started and not completed, all controls on the tab are locked with the exception of data grids, tree lists, and list boxes (for viewing records), and any other controls that may have special conditions documented below under Screen Elements. Modifying information on or from the tab is not allowed until the certification attempt is complete.
This applies if a record exists for the selected STATEWICID in the CERTCONTACT table and the CERTCONTACT.CERTENDDATE and CERTCONTACT.CERTINELIGIBLEDATE are not valued.

View items in the Nutrition Assessment Contacts tree list.
This tree list displays the nutrition assessment contacts for the participant. Selecting a contact in the tree list displays the information gathered at the time of the contact including answers to questions and risk factors assigned.
Click an item in the tree list to select it. The tree list is single select. Click the plus sign next to an item to expand the tree list and view information specific to the item. Click the minus sign
next to an item to collapse the tree list and hide information specific to the item. The data values in the tree list are read-only. It has the following hierarchical structure of nodes:
Nutrition Assessment Contactsroot node
|
|_Nutrition Assessment Contact node
If no contacts exist, the root node of the tree list displays the text, "No nutrition assessment contacts exist for this participant." Otherwise, the root node displays the text, "Nutrition Assessment Contacts".
Nutrition Assessment contacts display in reverse chronological order with the most recent contact (determined by the contact date) at the top of the tree list. The most recent nutrition assessment contact is selected. The data values on the tree list are read-only.
Nutrition Assessment Contact node
This node displays the date on which the nutrition assessment contact took place. The node will consist of an icon (pictured below) and nutrition assessment contact date in the format of MM/DD/CCYY. Selecting a contact on the tree list refreshes the contact detail and risk factors controls.
View the questions posed and answers provided for the selected nutrition assessment contact in the Summary of Selected Contact pane.
Questions will be prefaced with "Q:" and are displayed in black text. Answers are prefaced with "A:" and are displayed in blue text. There is a blank line between each question/answer pair for readability. All information in the text box is read-only. The questions will be loaded from VENAQUESTON.CAPTION for each VENACONTACTITEM.QUESTIONID. The answers will be loaded from VENACONTACTITEM.ANSWER.
View the information in the Risk Factors Assigned from the Selected Contact pane.
This pane displays risk factors that were assigned to the participant by the staff member as part of the selected nutrition assessment contact. Items in the pane are read-only and are formatted as follows:
[XXXXXX] - [Risk Factor Description]
Where [XXXXXX] is the 6-character alpha-numeric risk factor ID and [Risk Factor Description] is the description of the risk factor. All information in the pane is read-only.
For an existing participant in a current certification, if a nutrition assessment contact is created prior to a new certification attempt, and business rule VENAISREQUIRED is turned on, the system displays the W0006 standard warning message. If the business rule VENAISREQUIRED is turned off, the standard warning message will not display.
If the user clicks the OK button, the Nutrition Assessment link will be visible and disabled on the Certification Guided Script screen. The Nutrition Assessment link will become visible and enabled one day after the nutrition assessment contact was entered and CGS initiated. The Nutrition Assessment link will be disabled regardless of whether the business rule, VENAISREQUIRED, is turned on or off.
If Cancel is selected, the user can navigate back to the Nutrition Assessment tab, delete the nutrition assessment contact, and continue with CGS. The Nutrition Assessment link will be visible and enabled on the Certification Guided Script screen.
For a new or exiting participant with a terminated or expired certification, the standard warning message will not display when the certification is started.
Click the Add Contact button to add an item to the tree list.
The control is enabled when:
The participant is currently in a valid certification period.
The participant is a new participant being added.
It has a mnemonic of "A".
It is the default button for the screen.
When the button is clicked, a check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has the appropriate permissions to view the screen. When the user does not have the appropriate permissions, a standard error message (E0006) displays.
When the button is clicked for a breastfeeding mother who does not currently have any linked infants that are at least partially breastfeeding, a standard error message (E0411) displays.
The Nutrition Assessment Contact screen displays in Add mode when the button is clicked.
Upon successfully returning from the Nutrition Assessment Contact screen, the new contact is added to the tree list and is automatically selected.
If the VENAISREQUIRED business rule is set to "Y", the addition of a nutrition assessment contact is required during certification.
|
NOTE: Depending on your WIC Program, you may be required to add a nutrition assessment contact during certification. |
Click the Edit Contact button to edit the nutrition assessment contact currently selected in the tree list.
The control is enabled when:
The participant is a new participant being added.

When the button is clicked, a check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has the appropriate permissions to view the screen. When the user does not have the appropriate permissions, a standard error message (E0006) displays.
When the button is clicked, a standard confirmation message (C0004) displays. The options of Yes and No are available. When Yes is clicked, the system deletes the record from the database. The contents on the Nutrition Assessment screen are refreshed. When No is clicked, the system returns to the Nutrition Assessment screen (the current screen) without deleting the selected record.
Prior to deleting the contact, the system will prompt the user to confirm the delete request. The nutrition assessment contact may be deleted in the Participant Folder if the nutrition assessment contact was added through the Participant Folder, the contact date is the same date as the date the nutrition assessment contact was entered, and the nutrition assessment contact is not associated with a completed Certification for the participant.

If data can be validated and saved on the screen, the following processes occur when the screen is processed:
A process to check for required controls as identified in the Data Map below is performed.
A process to check for valid entries as identified individually for each applicable control in Screen Elements above is performed.
A process to check for edits and cross edits as identified for each applicable control in Screen Elements above is performed.
If any checks or processes fail, a standard error message displays.
If no data can be validated and saved on the screen:
No cross edits are performed.
All values are considered legitimate.
