The Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 1) screen is used to add, edit, or copy a state-level nutrition assessment question.

Screen Access

To add a question:

Display the Maintain Local Nutrition Assessment Questions screen > Click the Add button.

To edit a question:

Display the Maintain Local Nutrition Assessment Questions screen > Select a record in the Questions data grid > Click the Edit button.

To copy a question:

Display the Maintain Local Nutrition Assessment Questions screen > Select a record in the Questions data grid > Click the Copy button.

Interface Initialization

Upon initial display of the screen, the following occurs:

The Next button is visible and enabled as the default.

The Cancel button is visible and enabled as the default.

In Add mode:

The title bar text is set to "Add Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 1)".

The Question Type drop-down list box is enabled and blank.
The WIC Category drop-down list box is enabled and blank.
The Age Category drop-down list box is disabled and blank.
The Breastfeeding Amount drop-down list box is disabled and blank.
The An Answer Is Required check box is enabled and unchecked.
The Active Date calendar control is enabled and defaults to the current system date.
The Inactive Date calendar control is enabled and blank.

In Edit mode:

The title bar text is set to "Edit Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 1)".

The An Answer Is Required check box is enabled and displays the previously saved value.
The Active Date calendar control is enabled and displays the previously saved value.
The Inactive Date calendar control is enabled and displays the previously saved value.
The Targeting Questions button is visible and enabled.

All other data controls are disabled and display the previously saved values.

In Copy mode:

The title bar text is set to "Copy Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 1)".

The Question Type drop-down list box is disabled and displays the previously saved value.

All other data controls are visible, enabled, and display the previously-saved values.

Screen Elements

Unless otherwise stated below, all controls on the Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 1) screen are visible and enabled when:

The screen is displayed in Add mode.
The screen is displayed in Edit mode.
The screen is displayed in Copy mode.

If one or more special conditions exist that affect a control on the Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 1) screen, the condition(s) are documented for that specific control below.

Question Type drop-down list box

Select the type of question in the Question Type drop-down list box.

The control is disabled when:

The screen is displayed in Edit mode.
The screen is displayed in Copy mode.

The drop-down list box is populated with nutrition assessment question types in the Reference Dictionary table. It is initially blank in Add mode.

WIC Category drop-down list box

Select the WIC category in the WIC Category drop-down list box.

The drop-down list box is filled with all WIC categories that currently exist in the DESCRIPTION column of the WICSTATUS table. The options in the drop-down list box are sorted alphabetically in ascending order.

The control is disabled when:

The screen is displayed in Edit mode.

Age Category drop-down list box

Select the age category in the Age Category drop-down list box.

The control is enabled when:

A selection is made in the WIC Category drop-down list box.

The control is disabled when:

The screen is displayed in Edit mode.

When the value in the WIC Category drop-down list box is changed, this control is cleared. The drop-down list box is populated from the AgeCategory table for the selected WIC category.

Breastfeeding Amount drop-down list box

Select the amount of breastfeeding in the Breastfeeding Amount drop-down list box.

The control is enabled when:

The WIC Category is "Breastfeeding".
The WIC Category is "Infant".

The control is disabled when:

The screen is displayed in Edit mode.

An Answer Is Required check box

Select the An Answer Is Required check box to indicate the question is required and must be answered.

Active Date calendar control

Select or enter the date on which the question becomes active in the Active Date calendar control.

If the active date is the current date or a past date, the question is active as long as the inactive date is not also the current date or a past date. The question is active as of 12:00:00 a.m. on the active date.

Inactive Date calendar control

Select or enter the date on which the question becomes inactive in the Inactive Date calendar control.

If the inactive date is the current date or a past date, the question is inactive. The question is inactive as of 12:00:00 a.m. on the inactive date.

Targeting Questions button

Click the Targeting Questions button to display the next page of the wizard.

The control is enabled when:

The screen is displayed in Edit mode.

The control is disabled when:

The question is not the target of a jump from another question.
The screen is displayed in Add mode.
The screen is displayed in Copy mode.

The Targeting Questions screen displays when the button is clicked.

Next button

Click the Next button to display the next page of the wizard.

When the button is clicked, data is processed but not saved. No data is saved until the last page of the wizard is completed and the Finish button is selected.

It has a mnemonic of "N".

If the question is the target of a jump from another question, the active data and inactive date of the current question are compared with those of the target question. If the current question is inactive or is scheduled to become inactive before the targeting question, the system displays the I0054 standard information message.

The Local Nutrition Assessment Question (Page 2) screen displays when the button is clicked.

Cancel button

Click the Cancel button to close the screen without processing or saving data.

It does not have a mnemonic. Its keyboard shortcut is the Esc (escape) key.

If there are unsaved changes on the screen and an attempt to navigate away from the screen occurs, a standard confirmation message (C0002) displays. The options of Yes and No are available. In certain instances, Cancel is also available.

If the Cancel button is clicked, the standard confirmation message is dismissed, the changes are discarded, and the current screen displays.
If the No button is clicked, the standard confirmation message is dismissed, the changes are discarded, and the previous screen displays.
If the Yes button is clicked, the standard confirmation message is dismissed and the screen is processed. If errors are encountered during processing, the standard error messages display, and the user is returned to the current screen. If no errors are encountered during processing, the changes are saved and the previous screen displays.

The Maintain Local Nutrition Assessment Questions screen displays when the button is clicked.

Processing

If data can be validated and saved on the screen, the following processes occur when the screen is processed:

A process to check for required controls as identified in the Data Map below is performed.
A process to check for valid entries as identified individually for each applicable control in Screen Elements above is performed.
A process to check for edits and cross edits as identified for each applicable control in Screen Elements above is performed.
If any checks or processes fail, a standard error message displays.

If no data can be validated and saved on the screen:

No cross edits are performed.
All values are considered legitimate.
No data is written to the database.

Data Map

The Data Map defines the values saved for all controls on the screen. If available, any additional notes or comments are displayed in the Notes column.
