The Infants Born from This Pregnancy screen is used to access records of infants born as a result of the current postpartum client's pregnancy.

Screen Access

Screen Access

  • Display the Postpartum Information screen for a postpartum client > Click the Infant(s) Born from This Pregnancy button.

  • During a Certification attempt: Display the Postpartum Information screen for a postpartum client > Click the Infant(s) Born from This Pregnancy button.

Interface Initialization

Upon initial display of the screen, the following occurs:

  • The title bar text is set to "Infants Born from This Pregnancy".

  • The Add button is visible and enabled.

  • The Close button is visible and enabled as the default.

If records are listed in the data grid:

  • The Infants Born from This Pregnancy data grid is visible, enabled, and displays all recorded infants resulting from the current pregnancy for the participant.

  • The first row in the data grid is initially selected as the default.

  • The Edit button is visible and enabled.

  • The Delete button is visible and enabled.

If records are not listed in the data grid:

  • The Edit button is visible and disabled.

  • The Delete button is visible and disabled.

Infants Born from This Pregnancy data grid

  View the information in the Infants Born from This Pregnancy data grid.

This data grid displays infant records created for the current pregnancy. Click an infant record in this data grid to perform additional functions. An entry is added to the data grid for each infant born from the current pregnancy.

The data grid consists of the following control(s):

Infant on WIC column

This column displays the infant on WIC status for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Infant on WIC". The information displayed within the column is read-only. If the check box is checked, the infant is currently on WIC. If the check box is unchecked, the infant is not currently on WIC.

State WIC ID column

This column displays the state WIC identification number for each participant record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "State WIC ID". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

The column header and data are left aligned.

Ever Breastfed column

This column displays the ever breastfed value for each record displayed within the data grid. It displays a value of "Yes", "No", or "Unknown".

The title of the column is set to "Ever Breastfed". The information displayed within the column is read-only. If the Ever Breastfed indicator is set to "Y", this column displays "Yes". If the Ever Breastfed indicator is set to "N", this column displays "No". If the Ever Breastfed indicator is set to "U", this column displays "Unknown".

Breastfeeding Now column

This column displays the current breastfeeding status for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Breastfeeding Now". The information displayed within the column is read-only. If the check box is checked, the infant is currently breastfeeding. If the check box is unchecked, the infant is not currently breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding Amount column

This column displays the breastfeeding amount (i.e., Fully Breastfeeding, Partially BF <= Max, Partially BF > Max, Not Applicable) for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Breastfeeding Amount". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Date Breastfeeding Ended column

This column displays the date when breastfeeding ended for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Date Breastfeeding Ended". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Status at Birth column

This column displays the status of the infant at birth for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Status at Birth". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Gender column

This column displays the gender for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Gender". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

The column header and data are left aligned.

Height column

This column displays the height of the participant for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Height". The information displayed within the column is read-only. The value displays in inches.

Weight column

This column displays the weight of the participant for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Weight". The information displayed within the column is read-only. The value displays in pounds.

Age at Introduction of Formula column

This column displays the age when the infant began using formula for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Age at Introduction of Formula". The information displayed within the column is read-only. The age displays as "## Months ## Days".

Infant in Foster Care column

This column displays the status of the infant for foster care for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Infant in Foster Care". The information displayed within the column is read-only. If the check box is checked, the infant is currently in foster care. If the check box is unchecked, the infant is not currently in foster care.

Add button

  Click the Add button to add a record to the data grid.

The control is enabled when:

It has a mnemonic of "A".

When the button is clicked, a check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has the appropriate permissions to view the screen. When the user does not have the appropriate permissions, a standard error message (E0006) displays.

The system checks to see if the child is already linked to any postpartum record. If the child is linked to any woman in the system, a link cannot be established to the current record and the system displays the E0091 standard error message.

The Infant Information screen displays in Add mode when the button is clicked.

Edit button

  Click the Edit button to edit the record currently selected in the data grid.

It has a mnemonic of "E".

When the button is clicked, a check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has the appropriate permissions to view the screen. When the user does not have the appropriate permissions, a standard error message (E0006) displays.

The Infant Information screen displays in Edit mode when the button is clicked.

Delete button

  Click the Delete button to delete the record currently selected in the data grid.

It has a mnemonic of "D".

When the button is clicked, a check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has the appropriate permissions to view the screen. When the user does not have the appropriate permissions, a standard error message (E0006) displays.

If the user does have the appropriate permissions (HealthInformation.FullControl) to delete the infant record, the system displays the C0004 standard confirmation message. Yes and No buttons are displayed. If the user clicks Yes and if the infant is linked to a woman, the system displays the E0092 standard warning message. If the user clicks Yes and there is no link, the system deletes the infant record currently selected on the Infants Born from This Pregnancy data grid and updates the contents of the data grid. If the user clicks the No button, the deletion is canceled and the system returns to the Infants Born from This Pregnancy screen.

Close button

Click the Close button to close the screen.

It does not have a mnemonic. Its keyboard shortcut is the Esc (escape) key.

The Postpartum Information screen displays when the button is clicked.
