Participant List menu

The Participant List menu provides access to functions that apply to the Participant List data grid on the Participant List screen.

The Participant List menu is visible and enabled when:

It has a mnemonic of "P".

If you do not have sufficient permission to access a menu option on the Participant List menu, a standard error message (E0006) displays when the menu option is selected.

Menu Elements

Unless otherwise stated below, all menu options on the Participant List menu are visible and enabled when:

If one or more special conditions exist that affect a menu option on the Participant List menu, the condition(s) are documented for that specific menu option below.

Initial Contact menu option

Select this menu option to record an initial contact for the client currently selected in the Participant List data grid.

The menu option is enabled when:

It has a mnemonic of "I".

The Initial Contact screen displays when the menu option is selected.

Acquire All Missing External IDs menu option

Select this menu option to connect to an external program interface to import missing IDs into SPIRIT and update SPIRIT tables with the imported information.

The menu option is disabled when:

Open Participant Folder menu option

Select this menu option to open the Participant Folder for the client currently selected in the Participant List data grid.

The menu option is enabled when:

It has a mnemonic of "P".

When the Open Participant Folder menu option is selected, a check is performed to determine the folder is already opened for the current member ID. If the folder is already opened for the current member ID, a standard error message (E0365) displays.

If no alerts exist, the Participant Folder screen displays when selected if the user has the appropriate permissions and all edits described below are satisfied.

If an individual alert exists for the client or a household alert exists for any member of the client's household, the Display Alerts screen displays when selected if the user has the appropriate permissions and all edits described below are satisfied. The Participant Folder screen displays when the Display Alerts screen is closed.

Open Participant Folder Edits

Check Permissions to Open the Folder

A check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has View-level permission or better for the following features:

Demographics, Height/Weight Blood, Risk Factors, Nutrition Education, Income History, Referrals, Benefit issuance, Food Prescriptions, SOAP Notes, Breastfeeding Notes, General Notes, Nutrition Assessment History, Health Information, Immunizations, Breastfeeding Contacts, Breastpump Management, and Certifications.

If the user does not have View-level permission for at least one of the features, a standard error message (E0006) displays. When the standard error message is dismissed, focus is returned to the Participant List.

If the user has View-level permission for any of the features, the Open Participant Folder process continues.

Check for Participant and Household Alerts

When the Participant Folder screen is displayed, a check is performed to determine whether alerts exist for the participant or her household:

A check is performed to determine whether the logged-on user has permissions for viewing alerts. The following processes are repeated for each alert depending on its type:
