Infant Certification Blood Work Requirement

Business Rule: INFANTBLOODWORK

The Clinic application of the SPIRIT WIC system automatically requires that a new blood work contact be entered when a participant is certified through the Certification Guided Script. Blood work is not required through the Certification Guided Script process when completing an Infant certification until the infant reaches a specific, state-defined, minimum age.

The business rule enables the state to define the minimum age in months when a blood work contact is first required for an Infant.

Infants certified prior to the state-defined minimum age will not be subject to any benefit issuance limitations once they reach the defined age even if blood work is not collected. An Infant may receive benefits normally without blood work being collected beyond the state-defined age. This business rule enforces the need to collect blood work on Infants being certified through the Certification Guided Script process on or after the state-defined age only.
