Business Rule: CERTTOMONTHEND
The Clinic application of the SPIRIT WIC system automatically determines the certification period for a participant based upon their WIC Category and other information. The certification becomes effective on the current system date and ends on the date when their certification period is over. For example, if a Non-breastfeeding woman delivered on 11/05/2002 and is certified on 12/15/2003 then her certification end date would be 05/05/2003 (6 months from the date of delivery).
The business rule allows the state to have the system adjust the certification end date for participants and make the participant's certification end date the last day of the month in which the certification ends. In the example above the certification end date for the Non-breastfeeding woman would now be 05/31/2003.
