End of Day Process

The database connection string value was not encrypted in the environment variable for BatchProcessor Processing, which caused security issues.

To improve the security within BatchProcessor Processing, changes were made to the encrypt to the connectionString within an existing Windows environment variable using the BatchProcessor.dll, and/or to encrypt the connectionString and create a new Windows environment variable using the BatchProcessor.dll.

Changes to the Scheduled Job Administration DFDD for ENH-607 are documented below.

The Create Environment Variables within the Windows Operating System tutorial topic was completely rewritten, as the tutorial within the topic now outlines the steps to perform the following tasks:

  • Use the Command Prompt to encrypt the connectionString within an existing Windows environment variable that is currently used by BatchProcessor Processing.

  • Use the Command Prompt to encrypt the connectionString and create a new Windows environment variable for BatchProcessor Processing.
