Roles menu

The Roles menu provides access to functions that are common to the Security (Roles) mode of the WIC Management Console screen and allows users to add, edit, delete or view the details of role profile information. Upon successful completion of the Add, Edit, or Delete functions on the menu, the data grid is refreshed when the user is returned the WIC Management Console screen.

The Roles menu is visible and enabled when:

It has a mnemonic of "R".

If you do not have sufficient permission to access a menu option on the Roles menu, a standard error message (E0006) displays when the menu option is selected.

If one or more special conditions exist that affect a menu option on the Roles menu, the condition(s) are documented for that specific menu option below.

Details menu option

Select this menu option to view the details of the user profile for the record currently selected in the data grid.

It has a mnemonic of "T".

To perform this function, the user must have a minimum access level of "View" to the "Security Roles" feature of the "Management Console" feature group.

The Role Profile screen displays in Details mode when the menu option is selected.

Add menu option

Select this menu option to add a record to the data grid.

It has a mnemonic of "A".

To perform this function, the user must have a minimum access level of "Add" to the "Security Roles" feature of the "Management Console" feature group.

The Role Profile screen displays in Add mode when the menu option is selected.

Edit menu option

Select this menu option to update information for the record currently selected in the data grid.

It has a mnemonic of "E".

To perform this function, the user must have a minimum access level of "Full" to the "Security Roles" feature of the "Management Console" feature group.

The Role Profile screen displays in Edit mode when the menu option is selected..

Delete menu option

Select this menu option to delete the record currently selected in the data grid.

It has a mnemonic of "D".

A standard confirmation message displays when the menu option is selected.

The system displays the C0004 standard confirmation message. The options of Yes and No are available. If the user clicks Yes, the system deletes the record from the database and from any staff members with which it is associated. The contents of the data grid on the WIC Management Console screen are refreshed. If the user clicks No, the system returns to the WIC Management Console screen without deleting the selected role.
