Blood Work Issuance Limit

Business Rule: BWISSUANCELIMIT

The Clinic application module of the SPIRIT WIC system has the capability of limiting the number of months benefits can be issued if the blood work has been delayed.

The business rule enables the state to define the length of time a participant can receive benefits while blood work is outstanding. Blood work is considered outstanding if the Delayed Blood Work check box has been selected or a Reason Blood Work Was Not Collected that required a note was selected.

The cycle will be adjusted based on the value set in this rule. Once the cycle expires, the participant will not be issued benefits again until the blood work is provided.

The value specified in this rule overrides the CPA-determined issuance cycle.

Note

NOTE: The issuance cycle is not affected if one of the following conditions are met:

  • The value is set to 0.

  • BWREQUIRENOTE is set to N.

  • A reason that did not require notes was selected from the Reason Blood Work Was Not Collected drop-down list box.

Once blood work is entered, the issuance cycle returns to normal.
