The Food Prescriptions Report OPR010 (Output) helps to determine if the food instruments are being tailored or if state recommendations are being issued. The report includes the top ten food prescriptions issued for each WIC Category for the reported quarter and a count of the number of participants issued the food prescriptions. The state total will include the top ten food prescriptions and unduplicated count for the state for each WIC Category for the reported quarter.

The report is generated when the OK button is clicked on the Generate Food Prescriptions Report screen. This report will also be generated as part of the month-end process.

Data Elements

This section describes the data elements that print on the system output. Because of space constraints, the layout may be slightly different and/or all characters may not print within the space allotted.

Quarter Ending

Origin of Data Element

The user records this value when the report is submitted. During the month-end process this is the CCYYMM value from the CurrentMonthEndDt column of the ProcessControl table.

Format

This is an accounting month and year formatted as Month Name CCYY.

Agency / State Total

Origin of Data Element

The selection criteria and information being reported determine this value.

Format

This is a fifty-character text column. The format is determined by the information being reported.

Category

Origin of Data Element

The code value comes from the WICStatus column of the FoodPrescription table. The description value comes from the Description column of the WICStatus table for the associated code.

Format

This is a twenty-character value.

Rank

Origin of Data Element

This value is assigned based on the count of participants issued the food prescription. The food prescription with the highest count of participant is assigned the ranking value of '01'. (order by rank of the highest count to the lowest count)

Format

This is a two-character value.

Food Prescription Item/Quantity

Origin of Data Element

The description value comes from the Description column of the FoodItem table for the associated FoodPrescriptionItem of the FoodPrescriptionItem table. The quantity value comes from the ItemQuantity column of the FoodPrescriptionItem table.

Format

The description is a sixty-character value. The quantity is three-digit number.

Participant Count

Origin of Data Element

This value is the count of participants that were issued this food prescription and that meet the following additional selection criteria.

This is a six-digit number.

Origin of Data Element

The percentage value is calculated by dividing the participant count for the food prescription by the total number of participants issued food instruments during the reported quarter.

This is a three-digit number plus one decimal place.

Filter Criteria

Base of Data

The ten food prescriptions issued to the most participants during the reported quarter for each category are included. If a participant is issued a food prescription for multiple agencies, the participant is counted in each Agency. If a participant is issued a food prescription for multiple categories, the participant is counted in each category. If a participant is issued multiple food prescriptions, the participant is counted in each food prescription. Food prescriptions are counted if the PrescriptionDate of the FoodPrescription table is within the reported quarter. The FoodPrescription is linked to a common type in the FoodPrescriptionType table.

Agency, State, All

If an individual Agency is selected, summary data for that Agency will be included. If all agencies are selected, summary data for all agencies will be included. If the state is selected, summary data for the state level will be included. If all is selected, data for all agencies and state will be selected in the following sequence.

Sort Order

Agency / State Total

This report will be sorted by Agency code and state totals, depending on selection criteria of the report.

Category

This report will be sorted by category within Agency/state. The category will be sorted in sequence of pregnant, breastfeeding, non-breastfeeding, infant and children.

Rank

This report will be sorted by rank (of the participant count) within category.

Control Breaks

Agency

A page break will occur on change in Agency.

Totals for the Agency will be printed.

Grand Total

State totals will be printed when the state or all option is selected.

Frequency and Distribution

This report can be generated on demand and will be generated quarterly during the month-end process for the months of March, June, September and December, if the report is selected by the state.
