The Corporate Parent screen is used to manage a corporate parent record and can be displayed in Add mode or Edit mode.

This is applicable when a corporation owns the vendor versus an individual person. This information allows the State Office to maintain current records on the corporations participating in the WIC Program.

To add a new corporate parent:

To edit an existing corporate parent:

  • Display the Maintain Corporate Parents screen > Select a record in the Maintain Corporate Parents data grid > Click the Edit button.

Interface Initialization

Upon initial display of the screen, the following occurs:

  • The OK button is visible and enabled as the default.

  • The Cancel button is visible and enabled as the default.

In Add mode:

  • The title bar text is set to "Add Corporate Parent".

  • All data controls are enabled and blank.

  • The editable data grid is initially blank.

  • The Add button is visible and disabled.

  • The Edit button is visible and disabled.

  • The Delete button is not visible.

In Edit mode:

  • The title bar text is set to "Edit Corporate Parent".

  • All data controls are enabled and display the previously saved values.

  • The editable data grids contains a row for each corporate contact, address, and corporate owner record that currently exists within the database and is currently associated with the corporate parent.

  • The Add button is visible and enabled.

  • The Edit button is visible and enabled.

  • The Delete button is visible and enabled.

Screen Elements

Unless otherwise stated below, all controls on the Corporate Parent screen are visible and enabled when:

Name text box

  Enter the name in the Name text box.

The text box allows the entry of all alphabetic, numeric, and special characters. The maximum number of characters that can be entered in the text box is fifty (50) characters.

Telephone masked edit box

  Enter the complete ten-character telephone number in the Telephone masked edit box.

The masked edit box allows the entry of numeric characters only. Alphabetic and special characters are not allowed. The mask for the masked edit box is "###-###-####" to allow the entry of a three-character area code and seven-character telephone number. A partial entry is not allowed. If any part of the telephone number is entered, a complete ten-character telephone number is required. The maximum number of characters that can be entered in the masked edit box is ten (10) characters.

Fax masked edit box

  Enter the complete ten-character fax number in the Fax masked edit box.

The masked edit box allows the entry of numeric characters only. Alphabetic and special characters are not allowed. The mask for the masked edit box is "###-###-####" to allow the entry of a three-character area code and seven-character telephone number. A partial entry is not allowed. If any part of the Fax is entered, a complete ten-character Fax is required. The maximum number of characters that can be entered in the masked edit box is ten (10) characters.

E-mail text box

  Enter the e-mail address in the E-mail text box.

The text box allows the entry of alphabetic, numeric, and special characters. Only one at sign (@) is allowed. Any character can be entered before the at sign (@). After the at sign (@), the domain name is limited to alphabetic, numeric, and special characters. Special characters are limited to the following: hyphen (-) and period (.). The maximum number of characters that can be entered in the text box is one-hundred (100) characters. An e-mail address is considered valid when it includes at least once character before the at sign (@), and at least one character after the at sign (@) followed by a period and two (2) to four (4) alphabetic characters.

Headquarters ID text box

  Enter the Headquarters ID for the corporate parent in the Headquarters ID text box.

The control accepts all alphabetic, numeric, and special characters. The maximum number of characters that can be entered is nine (9).

Federal ID Number masked edit box

  Enter the federal identification number in the Federal ID Number masked edit box.

The masked edit box allows the entry of numeric characters only. Alphabetic and special characters are not allowed. The mask for this masked edit box is "##-#######". The maximum number of characters that can be entered in the masked edit box is nine (9) characters.

Partial entries are not allowed.

Corporate Contacts editable data grid

  View or update the information in the Corporate Contacts editable data grid.

This editable data grid contains each contact that has been recorded for the corporation. The title text of the editable data grid is set to "Corporate Contacts". The editable data grid contains a row for each corporate contact record that currently exists within the database and is currently associated with the corporate parent. The records in the editable data grid are sorted in alphabetical order by the Last Name column.

Edit column

This column contains a button for each record displayed within the editable data grid. Click this button to edit the record currently selected in the editable data grid.

The Contacts screen displays when the button is clicked.

Delete column

This column contains a button for each record displayed within the editable data grid. Click this button to delete the record currently selected in the editable data grid. The column has no title text.

The Delete button is not visible when:

When the editable data grid is populated, a Delete button is available for each row containing data.

The control is enabled when:

It does not have a mnemonic.

A standard confirmation message (C0004) displays when the button is clicked. The options of Yes and No are available. If the user clicks Yes, the system deletes the record from the database. The contents on the Corporate Parent screen are refreshed. If the user clicks No, the system returns to the Corporate Parent screen without deleting the selected record.

Title column

This column displays the title for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Title". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Salutation column

This column displays the salutation (Mr., Mrs., Miss, Dr., etc.) for each person displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Salutation". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

First Name column

This column displays the first name of each person displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "First Name". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

The column header and data are left aligned.

Last Name column

This column displays the last name of each person displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Last Name". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

The column header and data are left aligned.

Telephone column

This column displays the telephone number of each person displayed within the data grid. The value is displayed in "###-###-####" format to include a three-character area code and seven-character telephone number.

The title of the column is set to "Telephone". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

E-mail column

This column displays the e-mail address for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "E-mail". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Add button

  Click the Add button to add a record to the data grid.

It does not have a mnemonic.

The Contacts screen displays when the button is clicked.

Addresses editable data grid

  View or update the information in the Addresses editable data grid.

This editable data grid contains each address that has been recorded. The title text of the editable data grid is set to "Addresses". The editable data grid contains a row for each address record that currently exists within the database and is associated with the current record.

Edit column

This column contains a button for each record displayed within the editable data grid. Click this button to edit the record currently selected in the editable data grid.

The Address screen displays when the button is clicked.

Type column

This column displays the the alert type of "Household" or "Individual" for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Type". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Address 1 column

This column displays the first line of the address for each record displayed within the data grid. This is the primary street address information.

The title of the column is set to "Address 1". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Address 2 column

This column displays the second line of the address for each record displayed within the data grid. This is any additional street address information (such as a suite number, an apartment number, etc.).

The title of the column is set to "Address 2". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

City column

This column displays the name of the city for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "City". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

State column

This column displays the two-character state abbreviation for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "State". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

ZIP column

This column displays the five- or nine-character code for the postal zone for each record displayed within the data grid. The value is displayed in "#####-####" format.

The title of the column is set to "ZIP". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Corporate Owners editable data grid

  View or update the information in the Corporate Owners editable data grid.

This editable data grid contains each owner that has been recorded for the corporation. The title text of the editable data grid is set to "Corporate Owners". The editable data grid contains a row for each corporate owner record that currently exists within the database and is currently associated with the corporate parent. The records in the editable data grid are sorted by default in alphabetical order by the Last Name column. The editable data grid can be resorted by clicking the column headings.

Edit column

This column contains a button for each record displayed within the editable data grid. Click this button to edit the record currently selected in the editable data grid.

The Corporate Owner screen displays when the button is clicked.

Delete column

This column contains a button for each record displayed within the editable data grid. Click this button to delete the record currently selected in the editable data grid. The column has no title text.

The Delete button is not visible when:

When the editable data grid is populated, a Delete button is available for each row containing data.

The control is disabled when:

This column displays the last name of each person displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Last Name". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Date of Birth column

This column displays the date of birth of each person displayed within the data grid for whom a date of birth has been entered.

The title of the column is set to "Date of Birth". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

SSN column

This column displays the social security number of each person displayed within the data grid. The value is displayed in "###-##-####" format.

The title of the column is set to "SSN". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Telephone column

This column displays the telephone number of each person displayed within the data grid. The value is displayed in "###-###-####" format to include a three-character area code and seven-character telephone number.

The title of the column is set to "Telephone". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

E-mail column

This column displays the e-mail address for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "E-mail". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

% Owned column

This column displays the percent owned for each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "% Owned". The information displayed within the column is read-only. The value is taken from the PercentOwned column of the CorporateOwner table.

Date Associated column

This column displays the date the corporate owner was associated with each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Date Associated". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Date Disassociated column

This column displays the date the corporate owner was disassociated with each record displayed within the data grid.

The title of the column is set to "Date Disassociated". The information displayed within the column is read-only.

Add button

  Click the Add button to add a record to the data grid.

It does not have a mnemonic.

The Corporate Owner screen displays when the button is clicked.

OK button

  Click the OK button to process the screen.

It is the default button for the screen, unless otherwise noted.

It does not have a mnemonic.

The Maintain Corporate Parents screen displays when the button is clicked.

Cancel button

Click the Cancel button to close the screen without processing or saving data.

It does not have a mnemonic. Its keyboard shortcut is the Esc (escape) key.

Data Map

The Data Map defines the values saved for all controls on the screen. If available, any additional notes or comments are displayed in the Notes column.
