Tab Order

The tab order allows you to navigate through the controls on the screen by using the keyboard only. Use the Tab key on the keyboard to move to the next control on the screen. Generally the tab order will flow from left to right and then from top to bottom on each screen. When a control has focus, its content is selected or highlighted. A cursor displays in some controls, such as text boxes and drop-down combo boxes, when selected. Use the Shift + Tab key combination to return to the previously highlighted control on the screen.

When a default control is specified for a screen, and the control is activated by pressing the Enter key, some controls in a tab order remove focus from the control and prevent the Enter key from functioning correctly.
